摘要:
美国民俗学家阿兰·邓迪斯对神话学研究有一定的创见。他反对同时代学者拘泥于 对神话进行历史研究的陈旧做法,倡导并进行了神话的共时研究和象征研究。他一方面对神话进 行共时研究,分析神话的叙事结构;另一方面,对神话进行精神分析阐释,强调神话研究中神话普遍 性与文化相对性的统一。邓迪斯对神话研究方法的探索,对神话定义的简明陈述,都为神话学的发 展作出了贡献。
Abstract:
AlanDundes,anAmericanfolkloreexpert,hassomeoriginalityinthestudyofmythology. Heopposedtheantiquatedpracticeofhistoricalresearchon mythology,advocatedandcarriedoutsynchronicresearchandsymbolicstudy. Ontheonehand,heconductedasynchronicstudyofthemythandanalyzedthemyth’snarrativestructure; Ontheotherhand,hemadepsychoanalyticinterpretationofthe myth,emphasizingtheunityoftheuniversalityandtherelativityofculture.AlanDundes’explorationof mythologicalresearchmethodsandhisconcisedefinitionofmythallcontributedtothedevelopmentof mythology.
